BASIC COMPUTER LITERACY FOR WRITERS (i.e. anyone who writes!)

This is a two-part workshop for anyone who wants to improve their word processing and general computer skills. This workshop, led by Shanaya Nelson and Ruth Ozeki, will be held on two consecutive Mondays, February 1st and 8th, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Whaletown Institute (at 506 Whaletown Road).

Please contact Shanaya at shanaya@finalproof.ca (or 935-6411) if you have questions or are interested in registering. Space is limited, so please sign up early. This workshop series is sponsored in part by a grant from Cortes Island Literacy Now. Tuition is by donation.

Session 2: Open Questions & Tips and Tricks

• Advanced Microsoft Word tips & tricks
• Answers to your Word, Excel, Email, Internet search/research questions. We'll either answer your questions on the spot or dig up the resources and get back to you.
• Alternatives to Microsoft Word (Scrivener, Open Office, etc., if people are interested and there are no other questions).

Shanaya used to be a computer trainer and programmer and is now a professional proofreader and editor. Ruth is a writer and spends most of her time moving words around computer screens.
